It’s a particularly brain-dead thing to do if it’s Friday and Monday, because your colleague probably did laundry on Saturday or Sunday and doesn’t make a point to remember what shirt they wore three days ago. I had a job working with shallow, snobby women. They bitched me out for wearing discount store clothes. If I wore the same outfit two days in a row they would ask, in a hostile way, “Didn’t you go home after work last night? You are wearing the same outfit.” I was poor at that time and had only four outfits to wear to work. You should have heard the insults – I got called “white trash, trailer trash, riff raff, scum” and a few other words I can’t print here. I can’t believe the pettiness of some people. I wish they would get a life.
Why should you say anything at all? There are innumerable reasons for someone to wear what looks like the same top a couple of days in a row. If the clothing is clean and tidy and there is no unpleasant smell, who cares? I find this an annoyingly insulting question that seems to be overloaded with unarticulated but unpleasant assumptions and judgements. But really. If the clothing is not noticeably unfresh and meets the workplace dress code, who cares? Friday and Monday are not two days in a row. Saturday and Sunday come between those two days, at least for most of us. You should look at yourself and acknowledge that you are judgmental diuchebag who pokes their nose in other people’s lives where you have NO business!
Just how did you learn this, and how was it reinforced? How has this belief served you? Do you somehow think it’s still serving you? Can you see that it’s assuredly not shared by others? How are you judging people inappropriately in other matters? Where does this go to? Who else are you trying to change to beliefs you have yet to substantiate to any of us on their validity? It’s like assuming that everyone believes in the premises of a cult. Why, no. We have no idea what you’re talking about. AND you sound deranged. It is absolutely none of your business if a colleague or anyone else chooses to wear the same shirt twice in a row. Who the flying f*ck do you think you are, the fashion police?
